For example, if you equip a shield and use Weapon Arts with a spear it will allow you to attack in a completely different manner. This system is so cool because it essentially creates the need for players to mix and match their equipment rather than just using one set build. It adds another layer of depth to this game that makes it even more interesting. There is a very limited amount of weapons and armour in Dark Souls 2. This was done on purpose to encourage players to use Weapon Arts more but it leads to some problems.

Firstly, the result of this system is that most weapons end up having the exact same moveset with few exceptions like using magic or pyromancy. This zone also has one of the worst level designs in all of Dark Souls 2. Dark Souls 2 has way too many bosses in the base game. The player will spend most of their time fighting a massive amount of reskined enemies which is really lame!

This is one of the major reasons why Dark Souls 2 is inferior to the first game because it simply recycles content for the majority of its playthrough. Weapon degradation in Dark Souls 2 is way too fast. This system is so frustrating because you will probably have to farm for hours just to get a decent weapon to fight with!
